I am an attorney with over 20 years experience protecting natural resources and addressing climate change. I represent local, statewide, and national environmental and land use non-profit organizations that advocate for water quality, environmental protection, clean energy, and residential quality of life.

I manage my own solo practice firm, and I am of counsel with Troposphere Legal. I previously served as a civilian JAG attorney in the U. S. Air Force in its environmental litigation group, an associate at public interest law firm Olson, Bzdok & Howard in Traverse City, and an Honors Attorney in the Environmental and Natural Resources Department of the Texas Office of the Attorney General.

I was elected to the Grand Traverse County Commission in November 2022. I am a member of the Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) Environmental and Agriculture Committees. I also serve as the County Commission liaison to the County Pavilions DHHS Board. I volunteer with several local groups and previously served on city and county committees related to natural resources. I have also helped lead several campaigns to improve governmental transparency and accountability.

I am married to Traverse City native Mike Grant and am the proud mother of two over-scheduled middle schoolers at East Middle School. In my free time, I love to swim, particularly in open water - even in winter!

I grew up surrounded by orchards and wild things on a citrus farm in southern Africa. Texas was my home through high school and college. In 2004, I found my way to Traverse City and am proud to consider this amazing place my forever home.
