I am an attorney with over 20 years experience protecting natural resources and addressing climate change. I represent local, statewide and national environmental and land use groups that advocate for water quality, environmental protection, clean energy, and residential quality of life.

I previously served as a civilian JAG attorney in the U. S. Air Force in its environmental litigation group, as well as at public interest law firm Olson, Bzdok & Howard in Traverse City and in the Environmental and Natural Resources Department of the Texas Office of the Attorney General.

I volunteer with several local groups and have served on city and county committees related to natural resources. I have helped lead several campaigns to improve governmental transparency and accountability.

I am married to Traverse City native Mike Grant and am the proud mother of an active sixth-grader at East Middle School and an artistic fourth-grader at Eastern Elementary. In my free time, I love to swim, particularly in open water.

I grew up surrounded by orchards and wild things on a citrus farm in southern Africa. Texas was my home through high school and college. In 2004, I found my way to Traverse City and am proud to consider this amazing place my forever home.
